Law Firm Changchun acted for Woojin Inc. and successfully completed a transaction in which Woojin subscribed for 48,000 new shares (44.4% of the total issued shares) of Nuclear Environment Technology Development Co., Ltd. and for convertible bonds with an aggregate face value of KRW 300 million.
The transaction is significant in that it was pursued so that Nuclear Environment Technology Development Co., Ltd., which holds a patent for a mobile system to decontaminate incineration ash contaminated with radioactive cesium, could secure the funding to enter Japan's nuclear decontamination industry. Changchun played a significant role throughout the transaction, from the earliest stage — establishing the transaction structure, drafting the principal transaction agreements and advising on the various legal issues bearing on a successful closing.
