The agent of infielder Ji-hwan Oh (30, LG Twins) is responding to abusive comments and messages directed at his client with criminal complaints and civil proceedings.
On August 3, the baseball agency Pleiades announced: "After internal discussion and legal review, we have decided on a formal response. We will actively pursue civil and criminal liability not only for malicious comments and messages but for insult and defamation, the spread of falsehoods and impersonation (carried out in various ways)."
Ji-hwan Oh's wife, Young-eun Kim (31), also declared on July 30 that "we will no longer tolerate those who disparage my husband with abusive comments and messages," retaining attorney Kiwan Noh (38) of Law Firm Changchun and beginning the complaint process. On August 1 she gave an update: "There are so many people to refer for investigation that we are filing in batches of a thousand."
